It's fun to play guitar.

 

But sometimes people ask about the purpose behind it.

 

Why play guitar?

 

Why make music?

 

I make music because my Creator invites me to join Him in creating.

 

He also invites you to join Him in creating.

 

Who is this Creator?

 

He's the one about whom it was written: "In the beginning, God created the heavens and the earth."

 

He has always existed and always will exist.

 

How do I know He invites us to join Him in creating?

 

He said we were made in His image.

 

In other words, we are made to be loving and creative like He is.

 

In some ways, it may feel obvious that we were made to be loving and creative.

 

In other ways, when we look at the world around us, we see many things that aren't loving or creative.

 

This is because all people have fallen short of what God called us to.

 

As a result, this world has been messed up in some pretty horrible ways.

 

But God offers redemption.

 

He came to earth in human form and was known by the name Jesus.

 

He lived a perfect life and died on a cross to show His love for us.

 

He was buried but then came back to life to show us that He has victory over death and that we can have new life through Him.
