How Do You Connect a Melody on Guitar?
Nov 30, 2024When you sing a melody, connecting the sound comes naturally.
But when you play the same melody on guitar, the plucking of the strings interrupts the flow.
How do you fix this?
Avoid the following three things that interrupt the sound:
- Left-hand finger arrives on the string early.
- Right-hand finger arrives on the string early.
- Left-hand finger leaves the string early.
To avoid all three, precisely coordinate the movements of left and right hands.
Imagine each right-hand finger pulling the associated left-hand finger to the string.
As you move both hands together, you will hold each note for its full value, and the sound will connect.
The melody will sing!
