.....Sean Beavers is active as a guitar soloist, chamber musician, scholar, and teacher. He has performed in Europe as well as in North and South America, including performances on West Virginia Public Radio and Bolivian television. He has appeared as a guest artist at the Asolo Song Festival in Italy, the Alexandria Guitar Festival near Washington, D.C, and the Saudade Festival in central Virginia. He has collaborated with artists such as Jami Tyzik, Stephen Miahky, Alycia Hugo, Wendell Dobbs, Megan Roth, Kristian Anderson, and Matthew Cochran. He studied in master classes with teachers including Roland Dyens, David Russell, Pepe Romero, and Oscar Ghiglia. His principal teachers were Mary Akerman, Adam Holzman, and Bruce Holzman. Beavers earned the Bachelor of Music degree from the University of Texas at Austin and the Master of Music and Doctor of Music degrees from Florida State University. Beavers currently serves on the Editorial Committee of American String Teacher and the Education Committee of the Guitar Foundation of America. His scholarly studies have included research on the music of Roland Dyens. His research involved multiple interviews with Dyens and resulted in publication in Soundboard. He has lectured at the Guitar Foundation of America International Convention, the International Experiencing Villa-Lobos Conference, and the American String Teachers Association National Convention. As a teacher, Beavers is a member of the faculty at Liberty University, where he serves as Assistant Professor of Guitar.
